Book excerpt: This issue explores two distinct yet deeply interconnected areas of academic debate – animal studies and queer studies. The concept of queer ecology has gained a growing interest in the academia, highlighting the importance of intersectional understanding of ecological, multi-species and sexual exclusions and entanglements. The authors gathered in this issue engage with the connections between animalities and queerness in a way that casts a new light on these concepts. They do so in a variety of ways in which entanglements between them may occur while providing in-depth, theoretical analyses of what implications arise from bringing them under one umbrella.
