Book excerpt: THE BETA FILE is set within the UK pharmaceutical industry where an employee of Furrina Pharmaceuticals is concerned at some of the immoral practices being undertaken by the company in order to rush a new drug onto the market. Worried about these disreputable activities he contacts a TV station and offers to become a whistleblower to help expose such activities. Kim Harding the senior investigator and lead reporter for TV-12 worried about the stations falling viewers for their flagship investigative programme sees this not only as an ideal opportunity to reverse that trend but also to further her own career. A fast moving story with the action moving between England, India and some tense court cases in London which the TV company must win in order to broadcast their programme, leads to an ending which is both unexpected and shocking.
