Book excerpt: On November 08, 1993, Dr. Thaddeus Corrington became a famed Lifetime Achievement Award winner. He was also named man of the year. He was married to a beautiful woman, who had stuck by his side through all their ups and downs, and she was pregnant with their first child. He had been given the award for creating a cure for paralysis. Thaddeus would have never dreamed that the best night of his life, was also going to be the worst. But you can't have good, without having some bad. And in a strange turn of events, weird phenomenon become as common place as saying "hello." Thaddeus along with the other residents of Pleasant Tree Louisiana, come to find, that somehow the scales are flipped and slowly but surely the bad start to outweigh the good in spades. A storm has been brewing on the outskirts of town, and now the storm is headed their way. Thaddeus soon finds himself directly in it's path and there is nothing he can do to out run it. And as the body count starts to rise, the town of Pleasant Tree becomes, not so Pleasant anymore.
