Since the inception of the term resistance management, researchers have devoted much of their time focusing on resistance as a negative phenomenon in the work place. The present study will investigate resistance further and argues that organizational resistance can also be a positive phenomenon not only for the organization but also for the individual who employees positive resistance. It was hypothesized that subordinates who use negotiating resistance tactics would be perceived positively by supervisors during performance evaluations, while subordinates who use refusing resistance tactics would be perceived negatively by supervisors during performance evaluations. Results showed support for the hypotheses. The findings and future researched are discussed.
