Historically, a significant proportion of patients being treated by these palliative measures only will fail to reach success as defined by level of function and subjective pain level scores. Referral for surgical solutions for the patient suffering from chronic spinal disorders can also be challenging in that many of these patients are either not candidates or interested in pursuing traditional open surgical treatments. The escalating risks of opioids and the current opioid epidemic has further compounded the challenges for patients with chronic spinal disorders"--
