Many of them barely speak any English or lack the academic skills needed to succeed in their core subjects. Newcomer students are diverse; however, teachers can turn their cultural background into a strength towards acquiring the English language. Socorro Herrera, a professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Kansas State University, developed a teaching model called Biography-Driven Culturally Responsive Teaching where students' cultural heritages and prior schooling are at core of their English language acquisition. Currently, teachers can benefit greatly from the many digital tools available in the World Wide Web that will certainly complement their classes in a meaningful way. Google classroom is an innovative digital platform that can be used to structure a course that helps improve the English skills of their students due to the tools that it provides. This project contains a customized Google Classroom setting for ESL teachers where sample English language lessons were created bearing in mind the sociocultural, cognitive, linguistic, and academic dimensions of students at the secondary school level.
