It has been possible, however, by a study Of a number of Simple qualitative factors such as color and pattern in beans to find size differences associated with the simple qualitative differences. The association Of these characters would indicate that Size factors must be linked in the same chromosome with factors for color or pattern Of the seed coat and accordingly the Size factor or factors in any given chromosome can be studied.
