Minority populations are typically discriminated against when there is a scarcity of resources, like the Kurds have been treated historically, but there are some differences in the EU today in comparison to the past. Immigrants coming to the EU are fleeing problems they have created, and Europeans are not free to immigrate to the nations of these people nor would they want to in the vast majority of circumstances. Islamists have a dream of returning Europe to the power of the Turkish Empire that ruled Europe and North Africa for nearly 600 years, and if there are not some serious political and economic changes in Europe, this could easily become a reality. The mistakes of the past and the political objectives of Muslim extremists have put Europe and all Western nations in a very precarious and vulnerable position. China is set to quietly profit from the fall of Western societies as the media continues to perpetuate the narratives that keep the Arabs pumping oil and Europeans guilty. The Brexit was unpopular, but it will be looked back in history as the savviest move by any European country during these times of uncertainty, especially from a financial standpoint.
