Although any attempt to compress so much material into the covers of a single book obviously involves many difficult problems of selection, I have designed this guide to introduce the reader to those aspects of the commonhold law which are most likely to be encountered in everyday life. In line with that aim, I have attempted to explain the structures and principles of commonhold law in Spain in sufficient detail to provide the material with which working systems may be set up and problems may be solved. In the choice of topics, I have concentrated on those which are most practically relevant, omitting the subtle refinements of which solicitors are quite over-fond. I have tried therefore to draw a map of this specific part of the Spanish law which will help those who are puzzled by the legal implications of that sort of matters.
