Book excerpt: As our Father God desires that we please Him in all our ways - in our words, actions, character, lifestyle, relationships, etc. What we do brings pleasure or displeasure to God. Pleasing God is the main purpose of our existence. It must be our highest priority. Pleasing God is not difficult, because He gives us everything we need to please Him. Sometimes, our problem is fear of man or trying to please people. We cannot please God in the flesh. We must first accept Jesus Christ into our life and be born again. Once you are in the kingdom of God, pleasing Him is inevitable. You will be empowered by the Holy Spirit to live a lifethat is pleasing to God. Pleasing God is about living by God's standards, not by the world's standards. It is a matter of obeying God's Word and living by faith. It is about seeking to know Him and hating what He hates. The life that pleases God also usually pleases men and women. It is a life that fears God. It means following the example of the humility of Christ. It means operating in God's kind of love and wisdom to succeed in life. God promises to reward those who please Him.
