There were so many murders in the 70s, the district attorney made a public announcement calling Santa Cruz, "Murder Capital of The World," leaving it riddled with harrowing anticipation and a blanket of black fog that can only be described as unimaginable. How do you tell an entire civilization that you are sorry for the wrongful and massive slaying of their people? How can one express the remorse, sadness, and the regrets that one finally feels after generations of intentional torture, thievery and destruction to one another? How can one ever repay a debt so deep? Whose fault is it and where do we start? A high school history class explores these questions, and after a semester of painful trial and errors, they find the answers within themselves and discover the path to the truth.
