One practice to improve employee satisfaction is to adapt the Baptist Health Care's (BHC) Journey to Excellence. Samaritan Medical Center (SMC) adapted the Baptist Journey to Excellence several years ago and SMC has made significant improvements. This project utilized a literature review to identify the success of performance improvement measures and employee satisfaction. A comparative analysis between SMC and BHC was also completed to show what best practices were implemented by Samaritan. The goal of this project was to identify how well Samaritan is doing with employee satisfaction after integrating the Baptist Journey to Excellence. Employee Satisfaction Survey data was provided by the Human Resource department at Samaritan Medical Center and the Baptist Health Care data was collected from literature review sources. Various conclusions noted were that implementing the Baptist model will increase employee satisfaction when the components of accountability, communication, and trust are all addressed.
