Book excerpt: The publication of the “Encyclopaedia of Iso-polyphony” was made possible through the support of the Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation, established by the US Congress in 2001. This project, dedicated to the preservation of intangible culture, was one of the projects in 76 countries worldwide included as beneficiaries in its 2006 programme, and was submitted by Albania through the Albanian Music Council, a member of the International Music Council (IMC) of UNESCO. The Albanian Music Council wishes to avail itself of this opportunity to express its thanks and deepest appreciation to the Embassy of the United States of America to Albania, and to the United States Congress, for comprehensive financial support for this publication dedicated to the subject of Albanian Iso-Polyphony, proclaimed a “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Mankind”.
